Individual, Couples and Family Therapy

About me

I offer Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals (18 years+), couples and families. This evidence-based therapy helps clients to explore their inner life and experiences, facilitating self-understanding and self-compassion, and resolving long-term painful emotional patterns.  I tailor my approach to the unique needs and experiences of each client in an empathic and non-judgmental environment.

In individual therapy some of the issues that I help people with include, but are not limited to:

  • Depression and sadness

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Self-criticism

  • Eating Disorders

  • Complex Trauma

  • Grief & Loss

  • Low self-esteem

  • Self-harming behaviours

  • Identity exploration

  • Perfectionism

With couples I work with both partners to uncover the negative cycle affecting their interactions. Couples work may focus on various concerns, including:

  • enhancing emotional connection and intimacy

  • improving communication

  • recovering from relational wounds, including infidelity

Family Therapy

Family work focuses on increasing caregiver's understanding of the pattern of interaction that causes the conflict/distress, uncovering the source of ruptures in the relationship, and developing new approaches to communicating. Parents gain new ways of connecting with and responding to their children. Skills such as emotion coaching help parents gain confidence in their

role in their loved one's well-being. Successful family therapy restores the sense that the relationship is a resource for comfort and support, and gives families useful strategies for resolving challenges themselves moving forward.
